Designing Documents, Brochures, and Presentation slides .

Designing Documents.

Guidelines for page design.

Use white space (the empty space on the page).

Use heading.

Heading are words, or short sentences that group points and divide your document into section.

Limit the use of word set in all capital.

Use no more than two fonts in the single document.

Put important element in the top.

Designing Brochures.

Use this process to create effective brochures.

Determine your objective.

Identify your target audience.

Identify a central selling point: one overarching reader benefit the audience will get.

Choose the image you want to project.

Make every choice-color, font, layout, paper.

Polish the prose and graphics.

Effective brochures not only repeat graphic elements (heading, small photo) across panels to create a unified look but also contain contrast( between text and images, between a larger font for headings and a smaller one for text).

Use color effectively.

Make a text visually appealing.

Designing Presentation Slides

As you design slides for power point and other presentation programs, keep the following guidelines in mind :

Use a big font size ; 44 or 55 point for titles, 32 point for subheads, and 28 point for examples.

Use bullets-point phrases rather than complete sentences.

Use clear, concise language.

Make only three to five point on each slide.

Customize your slides with the company logo, chart, downloaded web pages, and scanned-in photos and drawings.

Use animation to make words and images appear and move during your presentation-but only in ways that help you control information flow and build interest.
